Too many words about old fic, not enough old fic

I started writing All Applicants Welcome [AO3] - a self-indulgent piece of world-building and relationships featuring Bluestreak and the most popular seeker trine - waaay back in 2011. I was in the hospital a lot that year and despite original plans to not share ANY of this particular fanfic until I had several chapters written, I gave into temptation and posted what little I did have. The positive response I got was a big boost during a rather shitty time.

I kicked out the second chapter a few months later. One year later, I wrote out a rough draft for the third chapter during an earnest NaNoWriMo attempt.

Then... it sat largely untouched. Having the draft helps on one hand; I know where I'm going and what is happening next, but on the other, the thought of tackling that mountain of hastily written sentences in dire need of re-structuring just exhausted me.

I've only seriously tried tackling it again the start of this year, a good long while after I got distracted from Transformers fandom. But I've made progress the last few months. I still love this story. I'm determined. I can do this.
