The main focus of my life recently, unfortunately for fandom stuff, has been crafts and sewing as I work on making my wedding dress. I've been putting photos of my current projects up on Twitter mostly, but not all my flist are on twitter and I've done some new stuff, so here's a big collection photo post for everyone.

And by everyone, I mean for me, because I like to show off what I make.

As mentioned a while back, we moved our craftroom to a bigger room and completely re-designed it. If you follow [livejournal.com profile] justnuts, then you've seen pictures of her art station on one side of the room. This is my sewing, crafting, and mold-making station:

I love the peg board. It's my most favorite and useful thing in the universe.

The My Little Pony lunchbox was re-purposed to hold needle nose pliers because it matched the color scheme.

My "reference board" for reference images, notes, and what not, and my clever solution for storing paint brushes and writing utensils.

Fisitron lives here because he also matches the color scheme.

New sewing machine! My old one broke and this one was not only a highly rated and recommended machine with more functionality, it only cost $30-$40 more than it would have cost to fix my old one. A good trade, I say.

This is my loom for my most recently acquired craft -- card/tablet weaving! I loooove the weaving itself and have to be dragged away from it to do stuff like sleeping and eating, but cutting and preparing the warp threads (the long, stretched out threads in the image) takes forever and can be something of a nightmare when they twist and knot all around each other.

This is my first (successful) attempt at what is known as Double Face weaving. Alas, I picked threads that were too close in shade, so the design doesn't stand out very well.

These are the first two bands I made, with Threaded In designs. The one on the left is made with pearled cotton embroidery floss; the right with 2/3 Mercerized cotton.

My third band, with a design/technique known as Egyptian Diagonals. I did something wrong with the thread tension and ended up giving up on this one a few inches in, which is why it's so short, but I figure it'll make a nice key chain.

My wedding dress is going to be in the Victorian style, so I need Victorian underwear to go with it. This means chemise, corset, and bustle. I went with black and white, because that was the colors of the corset I started last year.

Front view. The machine embroidery on the corset was not done by me.

Back view. I'm still working on the overlay of black ruffles (needs two more rows) which is why it's pinned onto the bustle rather than sewn in place.

Last of all, these are the silks my wedding dress is going to be made with. Yay!

I meant to say the other day and forgot (damned brain), that this is a *seriously awesome* craft space.
